At Hampstead Norreys and The Ilsleys Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people is of paramount importance. We follow the Keeping children safe in education a statutory guidance for schools and colleges from the DfE.
Parents and carers send their children to school each day with the expectation that the school provides a safe and secure environment in which their children can learn and grow. We, therefore, have to ensure that this expectation becomes reality. In order to achieve this, we ensure a wide range of measures are put into place:

The Governing Board continues to keep these policies under regular review. They ensure the Head Teacher provides regular updates on safeguarding as part of the reporting to Governors.
The Governing Board have appointed two safeguarding governors – Mr Mark Browne and Mrs Sarah Cairns.
Safeguarding children and young people is everyone’s responsibility.

Children’s Services Out of Hours Emergency Duty Service (EDT)
EDT are available when the West Berkshire Council offices are closed if there is an emergency safeguarding concern. This includes evenings, 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays. Please contact EDT by telephone 01344 786543 or email edt@bracknell-forest.gov.uk

The Ilsleys Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
- We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support children, families and staff at school.
- We ensure that all staff receive appropriate training, guidance and support to undertake the effective safeguarding of children.
- We use an up to date recording system which ensures any concerns are immediately passed through the designated safeguarding leaders within the school.

CHILDREN AND THE INTERNET
The internet is a fantastic resource for children to find information, be sociable and enjoy entertainment. It is also largely unregulated and is used by some people who have less than positive intentions. There are some very good websites which will assist you in your efforts to keep your children safe online.
